Andrew Keith Kelly was welcomed into the loving home of Bob and Gwen Kelly on May 9, 1962 in Melbourne, Australia. He was the fifth of seven children the fifth of six boys, and the original “action man” (a phrase he often used to describe those he admired but never applied to himself) from the day he stepped on to the planet. In his youth Andy was a member of the Australian Boys Choir and an accomplished gymnast. At 17, he discovered the snow at Falls Creek, an Australian Ski Resort. A natural athlete, he took to skiing and found one of his life’s greatest joys. He spent winters in Australia and summers in Europe, so he could ski year-round.

In 1984, Andy and a few of his Aussie ski bum mates discovered Park City. He visited for two winters. After the third, he never left. Andy became an accomplished mogul skier. Watching him fly down the slope was pure art in motion.

In 1987, he married Jillbette Fletcher. He loved her family, Mel, Peggy, and Rex, like his own. The couple had two sons, Jackson and Roscoe. From the moment they were born he became a devoted and passionate father.  Andy and Jillbette were married for 18 years and continued to care for each other and their respective families.

In 1990 he took employment as a paid ski host for Park City Ski Area (later PCMR). He flourished in the position, earning praise from numerous diplomats, celebrities, members of the general public and his co-workers for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty. His infectious personality and hilarious Aussie perspective drew people in like a magnet. For the rest of his life Andy treasured the many great stories and life-long friendships he made at the ski area.

Simultaneously he worked as a salesman for Images of Nature. Year after year he shone as their number one producer, nationwide. Anyone who ever experienced Andy in action, at this job or elsewhere, knows how uniquely enjoyable it was to buy things from him. No wonder he excelled everywhere he went.

When Andy discovered golf, skiing was put on the back-burner. He became committed to the game and eventually went through the rigorous PGA program to become a golf professional. His ambitions to play professionally were never realized, but he loved teaching and working in the business. He spent six years as a golf pro at the Homestead in Midway, UT.

If you were to ask Andy which sport he preferred, you could never get a straight answer. It depended on the season and if he had any injuries at the time! He recently discovered the thrills of mountain biking and a whole new world opened to him. He found joy in the mountains and in pushing himself to his physical limits.

In 2006, Andy married Jennifer Yeates Peterson, the love of his life. Like Andy, Jen had her own two sons from a previous marriage. They blended, along with their four boys, into a successful and happy family. Andy embraced his role as a dear, loving, generous and dependable husband and father. Jackson, Roscoe, Jonas, and Marcus have great memories of a hands-on dad who always put them first. He loved making them breakfast and sending them off to school with a custom-made lunch.  Sit down family dinners were especially important to Andy. The results were many moments that will always be cherished.

Andy’s passion for selling eventually led him to real estate. He became a Realtor, initially selling homes and condos for East West Partners. As always, he delivered passion and commitment to his clientele.  Later, he created a business selling general real estate alongside his wife Jen. He took his work seriously, and they made many dear friends as a result of their business.

Andy was a life-time nonbeliever, but some recent struggles moved him to give faith a chance. He experienced the love of God through an answered prayer. He felt the spirit so powerfully that he was recently baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He found great comfort and strength in the study and knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Andy was surrounded by the love of all six of his siblings and their families earlier this month when the entire Kelly clan traveled from Australia to Park City, many of them for the first time, for a wonderful family reunion.

He is survived by his wife Jen, sons, Jackson and Roscoe Kelly, step-sons Jonas and Marcus Peterson, his former wife Jillbette Gordon, brothers Bob, Grant (Wendi), Don (Jeannette), Ian (Katrina), Ken (Julie), and Anne (Rod). He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Gwen.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday September 30, 2016 at the Park City LDS Stake Center, 2300 Monitor Drive. Friends may visit with the family at the Park City LDS Stake Center on Thursday evening September 29 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm and also on Friday morning from 10:00am to 11:30am prior to the services.
