Betty Grace Kelly Hughes peacefully passed March 5, 2017 at the age of 96.  She is now reunited with her beloved husband, George, who preceded her in death.  She married her eternal companion George Emmett Hughes in July of 1941 with their marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1984. They were married for 52 years and she missed him greatly.

Betty is survived by daughter, Kara Lynne (Bob); and son, George Peter (Yvonne).  She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Lee (Carolyn) and Randolph Earl (Paula); and siblings, Bernice, Dayton, Bob; and granddaughter, Dyan.

Betty was born in Lyndell, Utah on June 14, 1920 to George Liddell Kelly and Cora Elizabeth Robinson.

In addition to her two children, she is survived by 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings.  She was a wonderful example of service, charity and unconditional love.  She loved her family and Church more than anything in her life.  She was always ready for fun activities with friends, lunches, jewelry making, crafting and any other activity her group of friends would plan.

She had many talents and would share them with anyone as she was an excellent teacher.  Her world came to a stop every Saturday night at 6PM so she could watch Lawrence Welk.

We will miss “Betty Boop”.  Have a hot fudge sundae and think of her.

Services will be held March 16, 2017 at the Copper Point Chapel, 11173 S. Copper Point Way, South Jordan, Utah with a viewing at 9:30 am until 10:30 am and services at 11:00 am.

Following the services, Betty will be laid to rest at Valley View Cemetery, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, alongside her beloved George.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Missionary fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be appreciated.
