Charles Robert Holman passed away April 30, 2016 at his home, surrounded by many of his loving family.  He was the son of Alvin Mitchell Holman & Marie Hansen. He was born in Idaho Falls on May 24, 1929 and grew up in Iona, Idaho. He served an LDS mission in Eastern Canada. He graduated from BYU where he was Student Body 2nd Vice President his senior year. He was a great DJ and MC with a wonderful voice, a great sense of humor, and he loved to dance. He loved entertainment, especially music. He was a Captain in the US Air Force, serving in Public Relations at Hill Air Force Base. He was a talented writer. His career in advertising was well-suited to his outgoing personality and writing skills. He married Jean Pitcher in July of 1953. They had five children and later divorced. He married Elaine Joy Buchanan on January 26, 1973 and were later sealed in the LDS temple. He was well loved and will be missed by all his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara (Jim) Lane and his brother-in-law, Blaine (Karen) Passey. He is survived by his children, Susan (Randy) Vahan, Nancy Burningham, Charles Robert Holman, Jr., Sharon Webb and David Holman; and also his step-children, Madge Shell, Miles (Michelle) McCarty, Gary (Dawnette) McCarty and Karen Hansen; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Olympus 3rd Ward, 4100 South Camille (2480 East).  Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Olympus 3rd Ward building from 6:30pm to 8:00pm and Friday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to services.  Interment:  Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.  Guestbook to post messages for the family available at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com
