Adelphia (Delpha) Susan Andrew Triptow was born 17 July 1921, in Menan, Idaho. She was the daughter of Joseph Gibby Andrew and Sarah Ester Ellis. She went to school in Idaho Falls, Idaho and Ricks College which is now BYU Idaho. Delpha moved to Salt Lake City in 1942 to follow her interest in family history.  Delpha married Raymond L Triptow on 21 Sept. 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ray passed away 27 May 1990.

Delpha was a professional genealogist. She had many callings in the church but the longest was serving as a Family History Consultant since 1956. She taught many classes to help others with their ancestry searches. Delpha headed a project in recording the information off of aging tombstones, before it was lost, in the Salt Lake City Cemetery in 1981. Delpha loved to travel and was able to go to England in 1985, in search of records of ancestry. She taught 4-H sewing for many years, to her daughters and their friends.

She was loved by all that met her because of her pleasant and positive nature. She was known as the smiley lady and the hugging grandma.

Delpha is survived by her loving family, children- Sharol (Dee) Snowball, Delaine McEwan, Dale (Teresa) Triptow and Karen (Patrick) Vier, sister- Elaine(Marvin) McGary, 19 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

The family wants to thank the caring staff of the assisted living center for their kindness to our mother in her final days.
