Don passed away peacefully Friday, May 20, 2016 surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Petterson Bone, his brother Earl (Joan), his four children: Karen (Chris) Pedersen, Dave (Alyce), Marty, and Sherm (Candy).  He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Jennifer (Joel), Kathy (Cyrus), Carrie (Colt), Wesley, Forrest, Dio, Nari, 3 great granddaughters, Lucy, Leah & Madison & 2 step great grandsons, Josh & Gage.    He is preceded in death by his beloved sister Rolene Murphy (4/18/2016) and granddaughter Connie Jo Bone.

Don graduated from West High 1948.  He excelled in all sports and continued to play tennis until age 81.  Don married his high school sweetheart, Shirley in 1949.   Don worked for Chevron Oil Refinery for 35 years starting as the janitor and worked his way up to becoming the Chief Engineering Inspector.  He retired in 1986.  Don loved music and belonged to the Phoenix Jazz Band playing his trombone.  He also loved to garden and tinker in his garage.  He was a handy man and could fix anything.  He was a good friend, neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him.  We would like to thank Silverado Care Center and Hospice for their tender care of Don and the family.
