Donna Cochran Talabock passed away on March 11, 2017 in Idaho Falls, ID following a battle with cancer.  Funeral arrangements are being provided by Holbrook Mortuary.  Funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Park Stake Center, 7411 South 4800 West in West Jordan, UT 84084, on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:30 AM with a viewing for family and friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Donna will be laid to rest on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:00 AM, at the Utah Veteran’s Memorial Park at 17111 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Bluffdale, UT 84065.

Born on June 13, 1942 to Gertrude Lewis and Arvil Alexander Cochran in Columbia, Mississippi, Donna was warmly welcomed to her family.  She grew up on a dairy farm and was often found working alongside her father.  As second youngest of seven children, she learned the importance of family and working together, which she later instilled in her own children.  Throughout her life, Donna’s family was a source of great joy and the time spent with family were some of her most treasured blessings.

Donna was a disciple of Christ and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught the gospel to all of her children and instilled in them the knowledge that they are sons and daughters of God.  She didn’t hesitate to share her love of Christ and her belief in the gospel with anyone willing to listen.  Donna shared her many talents with the Church in her callings, roadshows, girls’ camp, and as friend and neighbor.

Known to friends and family, as the “Cook of the South”, Donna’s talent for cooking and entertaining was enjoyed by many! Her warmth and hospitality made every person who entered her home feel like family.   Although cooking brought Donna the greatest joy, she also enjoyed traveling, art, painting music and interior decorating.  She was able to pass down these talents to her children and 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren by encouraging them to explore their strengths and develop their own talents.

From her first marriage to Raymond Pope, Donna is survived by Pamela Nan Ho (Naining), David Scott Pope (Heidi), and Kristi Howard (Kent).  She is preceded in death by her son, Perry Ray Pope.  She was later married and sealed to Cyril (Cy) Joseph Talabock, who precedes her in death and she is survived by their son, Damon Jared Talabock.  She is also survived by Cy’s daughters, Jody Bixby, Lisa Wilson (John) and Sheron Hebert (Mark).

This wonderful Matriarch is deeply loved and missed and we will cherish the day when we are reunited.
