Geraldine Borgquist Scott

Geraldine Borgquist Scott died peacefully on Friday Morning, February 5, 2016 with her children around her.  She was born on July 17, 1929 to Thomas Gordon and Margaret Baggaley Borgquist.  She was the oldest of 4 girls and learned to be very self-reliant and independent. 

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas and Margaret Borgquist; husband, Hal Ronald Scott; and a sister, Shirley Boyce.

Gerrie is survived by her four children, Dennis (Trisha) Scott, Lynette (Robert) Warner, Steven (Jan) Scott, and Lisa Scott. She is also survived by two of her sisters, Betty Allen and Pamela Osborn.

Gerrie spent most of her life raising her children and held many positions in the church.  She was a wonderful grandmother to her 15 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren who she loved and spent time with. She always insisted on feeding anyone who came to visit and loved to entertain.  She had Easter Egg Hunts and Christmas Lunches every year for her whole family. 

Gerrie loved to garden and spent her days planting and taking care of her flowers.  She also enjoyed doing handwork such as knitting, crocheting, and cruel embroidery. She was an excellent artist during one period of her life. She was very good at organization and had many church positions helping with genealogy and organizing the church libraries

Gerrie loved her neighbors and they took very good care of her for many years. Taking in her mail, taking care of the walks, delivering her meals and going to visit and entertain her with games and puzzles. We as a family would like to thank them all for the services rendered in her behalf.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah, where friends may visit with the family at a viewing which will be held the previous evening Thursday, February 11, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM or Friday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the funeral.
