We are deeply saddened by the passing of John Reed Call II, our beloved father, son, brother, cousin, grandpa and friend.

John was born in Salt Lake City to John Reed Call and Ferl Rose Barker Call. He enjoyed a full and active youth in the Millcreek area and was an Eagle Scout. After graduating from Skyline High School, John began a career in private and commercial construction. Known for his talent and incredibly strong work ethic, John quickly became one of the top general contractors in Utah.  He married Leslie Leavitt July 2, 1980 (later divorced). They had two sons, John Reed Call III (Johnny) and Joshua Ronald Call (Josh.)

John’s greatest joy was his family. He spent as much time as he could in the great outdoors with his sons, his dad and others he loved - hunting, fishing, boating, camping, horseback riding and waterskiing.  John could often be found riding his horse Shorty (whose name contradicted his appearance), with his dog, Bear, at his side or watching John Wayne movies. John enjoyed working with his hands, was an expert gardener (an interest he learned from his mom) and spent countless hours fixing things up at the family farm in Oakley, Utah.

We love and miss you John, and are so grateful to know we’ll be with you again someday.  Until then, happy trails and happy hunting..ww

John is preceded in death by his brother, J. Michael Call.  He is survived by his parents, Ferl and Reed Call; sons, John Reed Call III (Jessi), Joshua Ronald Call (Emily); grandchildren, KJ and Kelliann; brothers, Kevin (Janice), Frank (Erin), Ken (Debi), Keith (Stephanie); sister, Colette (Jonathan); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to visit Monday, June 20, 2016 10:00-11:00am at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please spend some time enjoying the outdoors with your loved ones.
