Patricia "Patti" Ann Ewell DavisJanuary 14, 1944 ~ September 2, 2017 (age 73)
Patti was born January 14, 1944, the first born of Raymond Ewell and Florence McGrath, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had one younger sister and two younger brothers. She grew up in the Sugar House area and graduated from South High school in Salt Lake City. At age 19, she married Kent Harmon in Logan, Utah on May 13, 1963. There were three children born to this union. Patti and Kent later divorced. She married Howard C. Davis on September 5, 1981. He had five children from a previous marriage. She and Howard worked together at Rockwell International and she was a quality inspector of electronic equipment. She later went on to obtain her CNA certificate and worked in different hospitals caring for others. She greatly enjoyed this job and made a difference in the lives of her patients. Mom and Howard loved to cook for a crowd and enjoyed making each individual meal its own unique experience. She loved to create new recipes, and Thanksgiving was one of mom’s and our favorite family meals. You never left her house hungry. She and Howard loved doing all activities together, rooting for the Jazz, playing card games with her parents, working in their garden, playing with their many dogs, and just relaxing by their fish pond in their backyard.
On August 28, Patti was involved in serious car accident and the injuries she suffered took her life on September 2, 2017. She really didn’t want to leave us so soon, but one of Patti’s last wishes was to not have to spend another anniversary without Howard. Patti’s wish was granted as their anniversary was September 5th. Patti lived a life full of the things she loved. She will be remembered as a fiercely loyal and generous daughter, sister, mother, and friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by so many. She is survived by her siblings Karen, Darrell and David, her children Tina (Barte), Cindy (John), Douglas (Jenifer) and her treasured grandchildren, Eric, Spencer, Andrew, Daniel, Elizabeth, Jared and Brandon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and grandson Tyler.
