Our sweet Dad, Robert H. Durrant, peacefully joined his sweetheart Marilyn to soar the heavens the morning of February 8, 2017. He is our loving Patriarch, Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa.  He was our best friend, confidant and rock with the most genuine heart.  He wore many hats in his 94 years:  sheep herder, farmer, railroad man, beekeeper, hunter, camper, fisherman, Eagle Scout & leader, temple worker, HAM radio operator and overall fix-it man.  He loved and led us by example.  His love was unconditional; it felt like no one else could possibly love you as much as he did.  He made you feel like you were the most important person in the world to him….each one of us are his favorite!  When he held your hand you knew everything was going to be okay.

Bob was born Tuesday, January 30, 1923 with his twin sister, Betty; to Horace and Anna Durrant in Salt Lake City, UT.  He spent his summers in what he considered to be heaven on earth; Levan, UT.  He herded sheep & turkeys, milked cows, churned butter, hunted, farmed and learned to love the land with his grandparents and uncles.  He served in the Army in the Pigeon Signal Company and Military Police during World War II in Hawaii just after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Upon his return home his twin introduced him to his luscious sweetheart, Marilyn Miller.  They married June 12, 1947 and spent 66 wonderful years loving and cherishing each other and their children; Rob (Shauna), Carma (Shirl) Leavitt, Tom (Debby), JoAnn, Jeff (Tammy) and Carolee (Mark). He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.  Not only did he raise his children but all their friends, scouts, bees, chickens, sheep, and pigeons.  He will be missed more than words can express.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February, 18th at 11am at the Canyon Rim Stake Center 3051 South 2900 East, SLC, UT. Family and friends viewing will be prior from 8:30-10:30am. Messages to the family can be made at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com
