Vicki Lynn Waters, of Farmington, Utah, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2017, at the age of 59. She was surrounded by her loving husband and family, having reached the end of a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Vicki was the third and youngest child of George L and Betty Jean (Tallant) Walden, born on February 3, 1958 in Lebanon, Indiana.  In 1978, Vicki met the love of her life, Royd Waters, while working a summer job at Jacob’s Lake in Arizona.  They were reunited more than a decade later, and were married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on June 19, 1992.  Along with a new husband, Vicki got four rather rambunctious kids in the bargain, who she raised and loved as her own.

Vicki began her career in the banking industry nearly 40 years ago, the last 10 of which were spent at Prime Alliance Bank in Bountiful. Vicki had a passion for the color purple and for teddy bears, and collected anything related to either. She also loved to travel, especially with her sister, and spent time in New York, Peru, Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean. She loved camping, and while our summer family camping trips across the western US were amazing, some were also ultimately disastrous - but all the more memorable because of it.

Vicki was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many callings. She and Royd were heavily involved in Emergency Preparedness efforts for both their ward and the city.

Vicki loved her family dearly, and was always a source of laughter, advice, and support. She was overjoyed to become a grandma earlier this year, and to learn of another grandchild due this summer.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Royd; her children, Angela (Brian) Vazquez, Gayle (Candace) Waters, Sara (Shane) Howard, and Emily (Joe) Hatch; as well as her sister, Debby Walden, her brother, Kim Walden, and 17 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Vicki and her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Huntsman Cancer Institute for her care over the past year and a half, with special thanks to Dr. Jason Hunt and Sonya Bowman for their genuine compassion and concern.

A viewing will be held on May 10 from 6 to 8 pm at the Rock Church in Farmington, Utah (272 North Main Street). We will be celebrating Vicki’s life on May 11, at 11 am, also at the Rock Church. There will be a viewing prior to the memorial services, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment at the Farmington City Cemetery will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, Vicki requested that donations may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
