Our loving mother and grandmother, Virginia Leta Kenney Park, 84, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2016. She was born in Gunnison, Utah on September 11, 1931 to Alma C. Kenney and Leta Buchanan Kenney. She married David Williams Park September 5, 1952 in Salt Lake City, UT which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Virginia loved reading, the Utah Jazz, making butter mints, but most of all, spending time with her family. She was a devout member of the LDS Church serving in many positons. She especially loved serving the children in Primary and Cub Scouts and most recently enjoyed serving in the library. She was a beautiful, gracious, caring, and giving Lady with a smile for everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her son, Gregory D. Park, Davidson NC; two daughters, Wendy L. (Paul) Stoddard, Kari A. (Allen) Braithwaite, Salt Lake City; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Georgia Elliot. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Maxine West; Brother, Gary Kenney; daughter-in-law, Nikki Park; granddaughter Leslie.

The family wishes to thank her ward and neighbors and the staff of Legacy House in Taylorsville for their love and kindness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Imperial 2nd Ward, 2738 South Filmore Street (1530 E.), where friends and family can visit 9:30–10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Guestbook to post messages and tributes for the family available at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that contributions be made to the LDS Church missionary fund.
