Bruce Allen Bedney

 Bruce passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, March 24th.  He was born in Rochester, Minnesota on July 17, 1960 to Robert Steele and Dorothy Jeanne Bedney.  He served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission.  Bruce was sealed for Time and all Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple to his sweetheart, Shellie Burton on June 20, 1990.  They were blessed as parents with a son Shawn Bruce who was the light of his life and brought them much joy and purpose in their family.  Bruce's greatest love in life was for his Savior Jesus Christ.  Some of the happiest times in his life were the precious moments he spent with his friends and family.  He tackled his life with much joy and happiness.  He had a contagious laugh and could always bring a smile to your face. To know him, was to love him!  Like his mother he met many challenges that he endured with a positive outlook never to complain about anything.  His soft spoken manner and gentleness melted everyone’s hearts.  He was authentic and made everyone feel comfortable and loved. He loved to serve others, and those acts will never be forgotten.  He is preceded in death by his beloved Mother and Father.  He is survived by his sweetheart Shellie, and son Shawn Bruce.  His sisters Tracy (Lyle) Shamo of South Jordan, Utah, Merrilee (Peter) Jenkins of Gilbert, Arizona, Kay (Mel) Wylie of Springfield, Virginia, brother Robert (Brenda) Bedney of West Valley, Utah, and many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly. Bruce will especially be missed by his special Brother in law Richard Burton. He loved all he met, and all that knew him loved him as well.  We know that Bruce would not want you to weep for him at this time. He would want you to honor him through service and kind acts to others.  

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00am at the Hunter 3rd Ward, 3737 South 5600 West, West Valley City, where friends and family can visit 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Elysian Burial Gardens.
