Clyde Vernon Griffing Jr. passed away on September 20th, 2018 at the age of 67. He will be remembered by his loving wife, Susan Griffing; daughters’ Alicia Griffing and Amanda Freshman (Alex), granddaughter Emily Freshman, as well as his sister Sharon Palfreeman (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, older sister, and his daughter, Sarah Griffing.
Clyde was born & grew up in a small town in Arkansas. He then worked at Delta Counseling and Guidance Center and Disability Determination Services in Little Rock, AR followed by the DDS office in Utah. He was most known for his work as a rehab counselor.
A few things that he loved to do was learn more about the Civil War, listen to Willie Nelson, and share funny stories from his childhood home. He was a sensitive and caring man with a quirky sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who have known and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Oct 2nd at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 2375 E. 3300 S. SLC, UT. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Another service will be held the following week back in his hometown, McGehee, AR where the remainder of his ashes will be spread over the Mississippi River.
