Constance Eileen Smith

Constance Eileen Smith, age 93, died peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning, September 8, 2018 in Millcreek, Utah, surrounded by her loving family.

 Eileen was born January 18, 1925 in Burton-on-Trent to Sydney Walter and Eva Alice Broomhead Smith.  She married Ronald Smith on December 1, 1945 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.

She had a great appreciation for all the arts and had many interests and talents. She loved and created paintings, Bonzai, intricately detailed ceramics and porcelains. Participated in several Literary clubs and was an avid reader. She loved poetry and wrote many of her own. She also had a lifelong interest in Geneology and enjoyed talking about family lore and stories. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held numerous callings. From 1990-1992 she and Ronald served a mission in their native land, England, for the Coventry/Birmingham Mission.

She dedicated her life to raising her family with love and devotion. She was an amazing woman, a true pioneer of strength and courage, leaving the only home she new armed with a strong faith in a new church, to raise her family in a foreign land with only the support of the church, and the friendship of the missionary who taught them in England.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Joyce Milner, and daughter Janet Andersen. Survived by her children Hilary Seibert Berry (Lynn), Patricia Parkin (Duane), Kevin Smith (Paula), Joyce Ekstrand (Richard), Paul Smith and An Phan (Heine), 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday September 14, 2018 at the Canyon Rim First Ward building 3100 Grace Street.  Friends and family may visit on Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Friday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to the funeral.  On line tributes can be shared with the family at www.holbrookmortuary.com.
