David Charles Cook

Our loving husband, father, uncle, and son, David Cook, passed away Sunday April 16, 2017 in Morgan County, Utah from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. David was born in Detroit, MI and grew up in Scotch Plains, NJ. He graduated from Rutgers college. Soon after moving to Colorado in 1993 he met the love of his life, Lisa Van Liere. They married in Breckenridge in 1999 and had two children, Ryan and Emma. The family moved to Park City in 2005. David enjoyed a successful career as a business executive. He loved coaching Ryan’s baseball team and Emma’s soccer teams for many years. Dave also competed in many triathlons and long-distance swims over the years. He loved skiing, the Yankees, bicycling, and especially anything he did with his family. David will be remembered for his smile, countless one-liners, and compassionate heart. He will be missed.

Dave is survived by Lisa Cook and his children, Ryan and Emma; his parents, Harold and Maryann; his sisters, Cheryl Hite (and JB) and Kathleen Kruer; and his niece, Kate. 

Celebration of Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2pm at Empire Canyon Lodge at Deer Valley Resort, the address is: 9200 Marsac Ave, Park City, UT 84060. Please arrive between 1:15 and 1:45, if possible. Please carpool and for those driving please use the valet to park your car.
