A man of honor and principles, left this world on December 27, 2019. Don was a Veteran, having served in the Army. He was also a family man who was faithful to his sweet wife, Patricia, and devoted his life to providing for his 7 children. We are saddened by his departure from this world, but we are thrilled for his joyous reunion with Patricia McCaffree, his beloved wife of 55 years, as well as being greeted on the other side by his daughter Laurie, and his sons David and Kyle, who preceded him.
Don was an active father, who participated in the lives of his children by taking them camping, on road trips, and being involved in scouting and youth organizations as a leader. He also had a love of the game of tennis. Don was a mechanical engineer by education, and he had a great curiosity about everything in life. He used his engineering skills and his generous desire to serve family, friends and strangers, by being the first to offer to help someone with plumbing, or putting up a fence, fixing windows, or anything to be helpful. Among others, one legacy Don left that had a great impact on his family, was when he investigated and then shared with Patricia his interest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. As converts to the church, together they changed the course of generations for the good. Don will be missed by his children, Dan, Chris, Linda, and Marci, his sister Sue Schloredt, as well as being missed by his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 4th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the LDS chapel at 9824 South, Flint Drive, Sandy, Utah.
