I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Please accept my warmest sympathies. I knew Bob through our association in the South Central Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies. We hosted the conference together in SLC in 2010, and I last saw him this past February at the same conference. He will be missed. He was absolutely one of the kindest and most gracious individuals in our profession, and his presence at our conferences is one of the main reasons I looked forward to attending each year.

Dr Steensma was absolutely one of my favorite English professors; he possessed that rare combination of deep knowledge and human kindness that leaves such a lasting impression on a student. So sorry to hear about his passing.

Dear Family:

Please accept my heartfelt condolences with the loss of your husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and mentor. The emptiness that you carry inside of you today will lessen and you will carry him in your heart forever. Although miles keep us apart, I grieve with you and pray for you. Our loss is Heaven's gain and I believe that he, dad, grandpa and grandma have a bird's eye view and are so very proud of all of you.

We were so saddened to hear the passing of Bob. He was truly a giant of a man.. Bob was always such a kind man. Every time we drove down the street he would wave. Bob was always happy, He always had a story or a quip and would make you laugh. He was always dressed sharp !! I loved his Bolo Ties. Bob and Sharon have always been so kind and welcoming and had great respect to all people that crossed their path. I was privileged to be their home teacher for several years. It was always a pleasure to visit in their home. I know Bob Loved God and will be blessed in the eternities .. Bob was a great patriot he loved his country.. A man of great literary talent. I am Happy to have a signed copy of his book on Wallace Stegner.. Bob was a true gentleman and a man of Character,, But most of all he loved Sharon and was proud of his family !! The world has lost a Class guy.. Robert Steensma will surely be missed.... May peace be with you Sharon and Family. Love you all Tom and Belinda Anderson and Family
