Eleanor Jeanette Goodsell Sandberg was born in Malad, Idaho to Clarence Edmond Goodsell and Jane Jones Barnes Marcussen Goodsell. She married Joseph Creighton Sandberg (deceased), in the Logan Utah Temple. Together, they had four children, Julie (Joel) DuMond of Salt Lake City, Janette Sandberg (deceased), David (Alexandria) Sandberg of Bountiful, and Jennifer (Todd) Dalley of Provo. She is the proud grandmother of 9: Kaisa, Steven (Alaina), Camilla, Nicolas, Kaden, Brennen, Andrew, Emily, and Kennedy. She is survived by two sisters, Coral and Irene.
Eleanor was an inspiration to every person she met. For most of her early life she lived in Oakland, California. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern States Mission. She then moved to Utah where she met and married Joseph. She served happily in her various church callings. Her love for Relief Society was life-long. While a young widow raising 4 children, she completed her college education. She then worked at the Church office building for 19 years. In retirement, she was still very active and published a history of her family that will be her lasting legacy.
Many thanks to Irene for her years of service to Eleanor and her family. Also, thanks to the wonderful home healthcare and hospice workers who made her passing peaceful with their attentive kindness and care.
