Gregory C Diamond

The masked man, known for his gravy, laid down his whisk on Aug. 12, 2017 due to cancer. After so many delicious crème brûlées, fondues, bread puddings, zuppa toscana, and coq au vin, “all [Greg] got was this dirty plate.”
After his birth in Park City, UT and youth in Salt Lake City, he served as an LDS missionary in the French East mission. While there, he immersed himself in French culture, food, and the use of secret ingredient, which left him with a lasting and delicious aftertaste. A lengthy and successful career as a county and federal prosecutor left him well done. While a federal prosecutor, he encountered new flavors and people when he had the opportunity to work in Moldova with USAID and the State Department.
For years, he combined layers of dedicated church service, fly fishing, wit, bow ties, and outdoor activities with an eclectic taste in books, music, movies, and poetry. He considered his finest creations to be his family. By far, time spent with them was his favorite, whether savoring moments at home or traveling with Kathy.
Greg spent his last hours surrounded by his wife and children. We will remember his ubiquitous advice, “It’s all in the wrist.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Cornell Diamond. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Bell; mother, Rhea Diamond; children, Hillary and Mark Evans, Whitney and Ben Smith, Joel and Mollie Diamond, Lauren and Jonathan Shepherd; stepdaughter, Katy Bell; siblings, Ann Diamond Harrison, Ken Diamond, and CF and Catherine Diamond; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Greg treasured the innumerable friendships he made from every phase of his life.
