Louise Schmidt Leary, age 96 passed away on December 4th, 2018. She is now happily re-united with her loving husband Lester who passed away 15 years prior.
Louise was born in Granger, Utah to Andrew and Nellie Bangerter Schmidt. She was number 6 child of 12 children. She learned the value of work from living on their farm. She told of the many happy memories of being together with her brothers and sisters.
Louise had a firm testimony of the Savior and was a strong and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She bore her testimony frequently and was such a noble example of faith and service. Louise served in many church callings as a great leader and did everything she was asked. She had a great talent on the piano and organ and was an asset to the 26th Ward in Pioneer Stake where she lived for about 70 years. She taught many piano lessons to children in the neighborhood for free.
She is survived by her brother Andrew, sisters Lillian and Elsie, her 5 children; Linda, (Dick) Brian, (Laura) Vivian, (Stanley) Kent and Galen, 16 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson, who will all miss her. We are thankful to know she isn’t in any pain and is now reunited with her family in Heaven having lived a righteous life. We are thankful for the knowledge that we will see her again.
Services will be held Monday Dec. 10th at 11:00 am with a viewing prior to the services at 9:30 – 10:30 at the Mountain View Stake Center at 2901 West 9000 South, West Jordan. Friends may visit with family on Sunday Dec. 9th at 6 – 8 pm for a viewing at the Holbrook Mortuary located at 3251 So. 2300 E., Salt Lake City. Interment at Utah Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bluffdale.
