Randy Dean Davis

On August 21, 2017, at the time of the total solar eclipse, Randy left us. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on August 5, 1959. He grew up mostly in Eastern Massachusetts and Waterville, Maine, and moved to Utah to go to colleges and obtained multiple degrees in History, Nursing, and Computer Sciences. He served a LDS mission in Copenhagen, Denmark in the early 1980’s, and worked as a senior health care IT consultant in the past 10+ years. He loved arts, reading, travel, hiking, weightlifting, and playing cards with friends. Millcreek Canyon was his playground, where he hiked almost daily with his wife Jessie and their dog Sabre.

Randy will be missed by those left behind, including wife Jessie, stepsons Benning and Benvin, his beloved dog Sabre, mother Charlene, close friend and brother Pete and wife Linda, sister-in-law Shirley and her husband Frank, several other siblings, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Randy, we will forever remember you as a loving, generous, intelligent, humorous, kind, and romantic soul. You have always been loved by so many of us so dearly.

A casual memorial service to celebrate Randy’s life is scheduled for Monday, August 28 at 7pm at the Porter Fork trailhead in Millcreek Canyon, where his ashes will be scattered in his beloved mountains. For those who are interested, a walk on Porter Fork Trail will follow the service. Please carpool if possible, as parking is limited in that area.
