Our beautiful and cherished mother, grandmother and friend, Ann Sansom peacefully returned to her loving Heavenly Father March 19, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born on September 8, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marshall Wellington and Edna Byrne Raymond in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ann attended South High School and graduated in 1948. She married Joseph Gordon Sansom in the Salt Lake Temple in 1951; they later divorced but remained lifelong friends and companions to one another. Mom was a devoted member of the LDS church and cherished her service with the Young Women and Primary children. She worked in various departments at the State office building for over twenty-five years, establishing lifelong friendships.
Mom was outgoing and friendly to all who crossed her path. Her manicured yard and gardens were the envy of the neighborhood, it was her passion. Mom’s baking skills were famous among not only her family members, but also friends, relatives and work associates who looked forward to her delicious treats. She loved being surrounded by family, shopping and long conversations. Above all Mom felt her greatest accomplishment was raising her four children.
She is survived by her children, Scott Sansom, Michael (Sue) Sansom, Jill (Scott) Wilmarth, Korri (Sam) Ball; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Glenna (William) Pizza; sister-in-law, Arnetus Raymond; and brother-in-law, Robert Sansom. She is preceded in death by Joseph Sansom, her parents and brother, William Raymond.
