Ted Duncan Stephenson Jr. passed away November 16, 2017 from complications of COPD.  He was a true Wyoming Cowboy, always with a 4x4 pickup truck.  He was born in Laramie Wyoming, November 11, 1947, the second son of Ted Duncan Stephenson and Jacqueline Aileen Doane.   He served with the U.S. Navy, then earned a B.S. Degree from the University of Wyoming in 1972.  Upon graduation, he worked a short time with the U.S.D.I. Bureau of Mines, and the U.S.D.A. Federal Highway Administration, before starting his career with the U.S.D.I. Bureau of Land Management (BLM).  He delighted in telling everyone that he gave his all to the BLM Office in Rawlins, WY by marrying Alice Jeanne Boggess to fill a vacancy in the office.  However, he didn’t receive an award.   Ted’s BLM career took him to Alaska, Washington, D.C., and finally Salt Lake City, UT in 1988.  He retired in 2004.  After retiring, Ted became active in the American Legion and served several years as Adjutant for American Legion Post 112.  Ted and Alice shared 39 ½ years together, had two sons, Ted Duncan Stephenson III (Danielle) and Patrick Edward Stephenson.  He leaves behind his wife, sons, and three wonderful grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Barton, and a niece.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 2150 S. Foothill Dr. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  This will be followed by a get-together at the American Legion Post 112, 320 E. 3900 S.  at 12:00 noon.
