Travis James Mumford, beloved father, stepfather, brother, son, grandson, and friend to many, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Travis was born May 24, 1975 to Roni Kae Platek and Brian Kent Mumford in Salt Lake City. Travis grew up with his grandparents and great grandma who took him on many camping trips around the state. He loved learning many things from his grandparents and was very thankful for everything they taught him. As a teen Travis grew up in Sandy and continued loving the outdoors spending as much time as he could with friends and family on fun adventures. Travis had a passion for carpentry and finishing wood and spent many hours with his father working together on jobs. He loved snowboarding up at Brighton. Travis also loved fishing and went any weekend he could. Travis loved taking his kids on camping trips just as he did as a kid and taught them how to ride motorcycles, shoot guns, and fish. He was very proud of his children and loved spending as much time as could with them.
Travis is survived by his two loving children, Emilee and Chase, who will miss their father very much. Travis is also survived by his parents, Roni Kae and Brian, his brother, Paul, his grandparents, Ron and Afton Powell, his girlfriend Angela, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 3rd at the Powell residence at 2424 E 3225 S, Millcreek, Utah. We invite friends and family to bring a dish to share with everyone and include fond memories and fun stories to tell about Travis.
We love you and we will miss you very much, rest in peace Travis.
