Alan Ben (AB) Clark, born June 30, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alan Benjamin Clark and Mary Virginia Knudsen Clark returned home to our heavenly father on July 12, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Alan joined the ROTC during high school and then went on to serve honorably in the US Army Reserves where he attained the rank of Sargent. Alan attended the University of Utah where he participated in the Rifle Team, during which he earned the distinction of champion marksman. In 1958, Alan joined the Salt Lake City Police Department. He honorably served the citizens of Salt Lake until 1988 when he retired with the rank of Sargent.
On August 16, 1957, Alan married his high school sweetheart Jean Lee Lindsey. Alan and Jean were blessed with five children (Boyd, Dani, Janet, Joyce, & Marcie). After 24 years of marriage, Jean passed away in 1982. Alan was twice blessed in love when he met and married Deborah (Debbie) Lea Christian on October 9, 1987. Deborah brought two additional children (Amanda & Kevin) to the family. Alan & Deborah were married for 32 years and enjoyed spending time together enjoying each other’s company.
From an early age, Alan was taught to love & respect the outdoors. His joy of the outdoors was found when he was hunting, fishing, and gardening. As he shared that love with his family and friends he built many relationships and memories.
