Catherine (Cathy) Louise Cushing Richardson 

3/26/1946 - 07/15/22 

Our beloved Mom, Wife, and Grandmother passed away on July 15, 2022. She was born March 26, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Wayne Cushing and Marian Ruth Nilsson. She married her sweetheart Terry Lionel Richardson February 11, 1966, in the Salt Lake Temple. We love you eternally and will miss you with all of our hearts. We will miss your smiling face, your hugs, eating raspberry shakes at the cabin, and cracking hilarious jokes. We will miss your generous love and support of family, near and extended. 

Cathy attended higher education classes at BYU, the University of Utah, and SLCC.  She served in numerous callings in her LDS ward, truly living as her Savior taught. 

She loved her border collies Schultzie I and II (the sequel). She loved her husband Terry and always supported him in his electronics business, sometimes traveling to distant shores for fun and conferences. She was a romantic and loved porcelain dolls. She was truly devoted and nurtured her family, with a kind soft spoken heart. She connected with individuals and could make you feel as though they were the only person in a crowded room. She is survived by her children, Russell Terry, Douglas Lee (MaryLynne), Kevin James, Thomas Lionel; and 8 grandchildren; Tyler, Mak, Ari, Lilly, Payten, Zach, Bridger, Josh, and siblings Marilyn Cushing Cleveland (Richard), Dianne Cushing and David Cushing, (Carol). 

As a family, we would like to express our love and gratitude to our dear Aunts Dianne and  Marilyn, who have been unwavering companions throughout her life, especially the past few years.   They have provided advice, company, medical care, transportation, and most importantly unconditional love. We also would like to express our love and gratitude to all of our Moms’ friends and ward members for their love and support. 

Funeral services will be held on July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Parkway 6th Ward (3407 West 9625 South South Jordan). Visitation with the family will precede the service from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM.  Interment at the South Jordan City Cemetery next to her beloved husband - together forever.
