Daniel Reaveley Obituary

Daniel Weston Reaveley

Murray City, Ut. – Daniel Weston Reaveley passed away Friday September 30, 2022.

He was 54 years old.

Dan was born on November 27, 1967 to Ronald J. Reaveley and Carolyn Clark Reaveley. He was the third of 5 children and enjoyed an idyllic childhood growing up in East Millcreek, Utah with his two brothers and two sisters. Dan inherited a progressive muscular disease called Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy which caused his passing.

Dan enjoyed a large neighborhood group of young men his age where they played lots of sports, participated in scouting where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and fully involved himself in family work projects and many outdoor activities. Dan and his buddy’s especially loved playing pick-up basketball where many hotly contested hours were spent trying to win the game.

Dan graduated from Olympus High School and also the Olympus H.S. Seminary program. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He attended two years of school at Utah State University prior to serving a church mission in Little Rock, Arkansas. During the years he frequently talked about the challenging and fun times he enjoyed during his two years of service. He also came home with some really different culinary tastes for southern foods including Kimchi, a spicy Korean dish.

Dan loved the many outdoor activities he participated in with his family including, water skiing, snow skiing, pheasant hunting, riding ATV’s in the rugged mountains and Saturday morning basketball with his Dad and friends.

Dan worked many years running an injection molding machine where they made components for Caterpillar equipment. He enjoyed the work and was a very dependable hard worker. Dan had many friends from work of various nationalities. They attended Country Western Concerts together in Utah and Vail Colorado and greatly enjoyed each other’s company.

Dan was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs football fan for the past 30 years. He frequently wore Kansas City team gear such as hats and shirts and loved to cheer for his team.

Dan is preceded in death by his mother, older brother John, younger brother Doug, and older sister Marianne Mills (Clay). He is survived by his father Ronald Reaveley, his step-mother Laura, and his sister Lori Martineau (John) along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

We will miss Dan very much as he was kind and thoughtful to everyone and always fun to be with and glad to hang out with his extended family. We will also miss our frequent highly competitive Shanghai card games and our times to go out and eat a fun meal together.

Graveside services will be held Sat. Oct. 15th, 11am at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park at 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah for family and close friends.
