Don LaMonte Earl

Don LaMonte Earl passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 due to causes incident to age. He was born April 29, 1930 in St. Anthony, Idaho to LeConte and Lois Earl. He grew up near extended family in fielding, Utah.

He was a brilliant architectural designer; helping with the designing of many buildings and homes throughout the Salt Lake Valley. His special touch can be seen on many structures throughout the State of Utah. He worked for many architectural firms throughout his career, gleaning knowledge and experience along the way. 

He enjoyed working for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Temples and Special Projects. When he lost his eyesight at the age of 50, he continued his architectural work and was always optimistic about life. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

Because of his love for his many friends, he organized parties and trips to keep everyone together; from water ski and snow ski trips, rafting the Green River, barbecues, and numerous get-togethers. We will always remember the great love he had for his Heavenly Father and his Savior, as well as his love for people.

He is survived by his former wife Annette of SLC, UT; children, Todd of Sandy, UT; Stephanie (Phil) Zobrist of San Clemente, CA; Anthony of Tillamook, OR; and Leslie (Dave) Nelson of SLC, UT; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and another on the way; his sister, Jeri (Scott) Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clayton L. Earl.

Viewing will be Saturday, November 17th, 11:00-12:00 p.m., prior to a Celebration of Memories from 12-1:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary on 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City.
