Doreen Alice Webb (90)
1931-2022
Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Doreen Webb, passed away peacefully at home Monday, June 20, 2022. Doreen was truly one of a kind and there will be no replacing her in the lives of her family and friends, she will be dearly missed.
Doreen was born August 4, 1931, in Los Angeles, CA to her parents Leo Murphy and Stella Lindsay Murphy. Doreen had a wonderful childhood growing up in Redondo Beach, CA. She was born during the Great Depression and lived through World War II. Both major world events helped to form her into the resourceful, strong, and creative person she was. Like so many in her generation, she lived by the motto, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without."
Doreen was never afraid of hard work, and she had a long and successful career working for General Telephone. The most important thing that happened during her career at General Telephone was meeting her husband, Jim. Doreen and Jim were married for 59 years, before he passed away back in 2012. What a beautiful reunion they are enjoying right now! Together, they raised two children, James Cameron, and Judith Christine. In 2002 Doreen and Jim moved to East Millcreek Utah to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Family meant everything and those 10 years in East Millcreek were some of their happiest years together.
Doreen was very involved in her church and community. She loved to garden, was an award-winning quilter, attended her neighborhood book club, quilt club, and was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Doreen is survived by her children; James Webb, Judy Tatton (Charles), grandchildren Chris Tatton, Ryan Tatton (Emma), and great grandchildren Hannah Tatton, and Benjamin Tatton.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, mother Stella, father Leo, and sisters Eva Rogers, and Lorna Pope.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 28 from 9am-10am, with services to follow at 10am at the Valley View Stake Center located at 2245 E 3900 S, Millcreek, UT 84109.
