Earl Dean Stewart

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather has gone home to meet his Creator, and the Creator of this beautiful world and all of nature, that he so loved throughout his life.

Earl was born January 27, 1932, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Clarence Lester Stewart and Stella Sanderson Stewart, the last born of their seven children.

Earl was a wonderful man. He was a shining example of honesty, integrity and unconditional love. He was gentle and kind to all and a loyal and faithful husband.

His greatest joy was his family and he loved being with them.  As an avid outdoorsman, you could often find him boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, hunting or fishing with his beloved family and friends.

Earl was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different positions, mostly with the youth.  His many years of service in the Scouting program earned him many honors including the highest award of Silver Beaver.

Earl graduated from BYU in 1954 with a BA.  in Chemistry.  He worked for Kennecott for 25 yrs. and OSHA until his retirement. He was also a veteran serving in the US Airforce as a Second Lieutenant.

Following a rapid decline in health, Earl passed away December 23, 2021, just a month shy of his 90th birthday.

He is survived by his wife Karolyn, a sacred companionship they shared for 67 years, and his four children:  Jana (Ray) Wright, Karene (Jim) Teahan, Teresa (Paul, who preceded him in death) McGregor, Jeff (Kristen) Stewart, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, with numbers 12 and 13 expected soon.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude and appreciation to friends and ward members for their love and support, as well as to the sweet caregivers of Harmony Home Health and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30,  2021 at the LDS Chapel located at 2125 Evergreen Ave. Millcreek, Utah, at 1:30 pm.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the church.  To watch the funeral via live-stream, scroll to the bottom of Earl's obituary on the Holbrook Mortuary website on the day of the funeral.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests creating a fun family memory with your loved ones.
