Eleonore Michaelis

Eleonore Michaelis passed away at the age of 89 on July 7, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on March 5, 1936, in Bielefeld, Germany to Engelbert Wilhelm Schmitz and Caroline Anna Grappendorf. She married the love of her life, Walter Herman Michaelis, on April 28, 1960.

Eleonore spent her time in the garden where she found pure happiness. If she was not in the garden she was found sewing, knitting, or even quilting. She was a loving wife and devoted mother. She was well known for being the best grandmother and great grandmother. Family was everything to Eleonore.

She is survived by Karin Michaelis Farnsworth (Daughter), Son-in-Law Lyn Farnsworth, Grand Children: Alec (Christi), Paal, Stephen, Kevin (Nyssa), Robert, Brian (Maryn), Kirsten, Gillian, Jennifer, Benjamin, and Rachel Cleverly (Benjamin). Great Grandchildren: Walter and Cassie

She is preceded in death by her husband Walter Michaelis and son Scott Michaelis.

Graveside service will be held on Monday July 14, 2025, at Wasatch Lawns at 10:00AM 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106. A viewing will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Memorial Holbrook Mortuary 3251 South 2300 East, Millcreek, Utah 84109.
