Fredrick “Big Fred” Earl Garrett, 72, was born March 12, 1945 in Dothan, Alabama. Our loving father, son, brother, grandpa, cousin and uncle peacefully passed away March 4, 2018, due to complications with pneumonia. Fred came to Utah as a teenager and shortly after graduating from South High School, he joined the United States Air Force to serve the country he loved. He had a huge passion for fishing at Utah Lake, hunting near Wolf Creek and golfing with family and friends. Fred married the love of his life, the late LaReida Bolin Garrett, and together between them had 5 beautiful children, Andy (Susan), Guy, Billie Jo (Randy), Tess (Robert) and Fred (Marnell), with 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents and 8 siblings, where they are all sharing amazing life memories together once again. Big Fred is loved by many, and he will truly be missed. “Until we meet again, one day upon God’s golden sand, we will picture you, no other way than with a pole in hand”.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 7:00pm at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends and family can visit one hour prior.
