Gary Ray Robertson, age 60, born 21 June 1961 in SLC, Utah. Adopted by Ruth Bowers & Glen Jex Robertson. Died 23 Jan. 2022 in SLC of NSTI.
He found out at a young age that he was adopted and searched for years to find his birth family. His dream was recently (4 years) realized when he sent in a DNA sample, and he found a first cousin.
It took some time to figure out who his birth parents were, thanks to the persistence of his cousin working on one family and his wife working on the other side his birth parents were found. As an added bonus he found out that he had 2 more brothers and 1 sister.
He attended local schools and was a very proud South High Cub – Class of 78-79. He enjoyed all sports (truly) and was an AVID; almost too avid, sports fan.
On July 23, 1988, he married Heidi Wilhelmi in Las Vegas, NV. His son Mason Jex was born 20 April 1991.
Gary & Heidi later divorced but did remain friends. Gary later married Gaylene Schmardebeck Bauer on 17 March 2014 in SLC, Utah after being set up by common friends. Coming onto this relationship with Gaylene added a stepdaughter and her family. Kassie (RJ) Rodriguez & three grandchildren Austin, Ashlynne, and Andrew. He was always one of their biggest supporters but was always the loudest supporter of their sports & other functions.
He is survived by his wife, Gaylene, Son Mason, Brother: Paul & Julie, Nieces Marlayna, McKayla, and McKenna. Stepdaughter: Kassie & RJ Rodriguez, Austin, Ashlynne, & Andrew. His puppers Harlo - who misses him a lot.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his cousin and friend Tim Robertson.
He is also survived by his brothers Mark (Pam) Vigil of Titusville, Florida, Wayne (Trish) Vigil of Brigham City, Utah, sister Wanda (Don) Edwards of West Haven, Utah.
We would like to thank everyone for all their support to Gary & Gaylene during this past month of January. We have been blessed by so many Angels.
