“He lived with a fearless heart and a joyful spirit, embracing life as the grand adventure it is.”
A Life Well Lived
Guanxiong Cai passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 26, 2025, in Sandy, Utah, at the age of 89.
Throughout his life, he devoted himself to college education. As a Professor in Civil Engineering, he excelled in both teaching and academics. In addition to work, he filled his days with adventure — climbing mountains, casting lines into lakes and oceans, and traveling across the world to be with family. His energy was magnetic, and his stories unforgettable. He was also a master bridge player, competing with his beloved wife and mentoring the next generation with patience and skill.
He is lovingly remembered by his three children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren — each carrying forward his legacy of joy, strength, and curiosity.
