Harold Pitt Obituary

Harold Reed Pitt

"HP"

Age 86, peacefully passed away on November 3rd, 2020 in East Millcreek, Utah.

He was born in Vernal, Utah to James Melvin Pitt and Sarah Estella Hall on July 18, 1934. He was the 14th of 16 children in the family.

HP married his sweetheart DeLoa Goulding on March 18th,1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

They were  sealed along with their 4 children in the Manti, Utah Temple on January 5th, 1963. Their children are Deloa Kristeen Cornell (Jerry), Scott Reed Pitt (Lauren Willey), Harold Jeffury Pitt (Oscar Caldwell) and Darin Keith Pitt (Vera DiFulvio).

He was preceded in death by his parents, 13 siblings, his wife DeLoa, daughter Kristeen, and great-grandson Addison Thomson.  He is survived by his sister Colleen Preece, brother Paul Pitt, 3 sons Scott, Jeffury and Darin Pitt, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren with another on the way.

HP was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, friend, and coach. If you knew HP, you probably loved him but one thing is sure He Loved You.

He was a lifelong faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having held many callings and ministering to people throughout his life.

His physical strength was well beyond that of a normal man but his mannerisms were kind, gentle and loving with a great sense of humor affecting people to flock to him.

HP was a hardworking man his entire life. He was a truck driver for over 40 years working for Rio Grande Motorway, Western Pacific Transport, Overnight Transportation, and Union Pacific Motor Freight. His motto’s were “Get the job done and you can rest after”, “Many hands make light loads” and “Do it right the first time so you don’t have to do it again.”
He was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, excelling in golf, hunting, bowling, basketball and softball.

We know that he was not perfect because as sick as it may seem to many of us, he was a Green Bay Packer fan and even worse a passionate New York Yankee fan.

Grandpa, We miss you already and we can’t wait to see you again.
