Obituary for Joanne Lusk Holt.
She returned to the loving arms of her husband on April 10th, 2022, in Tooele, Utah at age the of 88. She was born on January 12 1934 in Malad, Idaho to David Jenkins Lusk and Merle Reynolds Lusk. She married Jack Dee Holt on September 29th, 1961, in Aberdeen, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Utah Temple on July 18th, 1972.
Joanne loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She shared her love of music with her husband. She was always proud of the fact that she earned her Licensed Practical Degree in Nursing. Jo’s favorite things in her life were her family and her faith. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Joanne served in many callings in the church, including Chorister, Ward Music Director, Choir Director. She loved ministering to the sisters in her ward. Her favorite calling, that she served with her husband Jack, was as the Meadow Ward Nursery leaders. Those nursery children who have children of their own today, still call her Grandma Jo.
She is survived by daughters: Dani (Steve) Haskett, Dawn (Phil) Faber and by son David (Sabrina) Holt. She is survived by 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Dave (Merle) Lusk, her parents in law James (Reah) Holt. Her husband Jack Dee Holt and by daughter Morgan Jo Darci (Stan) Stantyn and son Darren (Michelle) Holt. As well her siblings; Marla (Blair) Whiting, Kenneth (LaRae) Lusk, Scott Lusk; brother in laws Jay Anderson, Neldon Palmer, and sister-in-law Jean Palmer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18th, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Meadow Ward Meeting house located 1955 West 400 North, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84116 where friends may call from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment: Utah Veterans Memorial Park (Cemetery), 17111 South Camp Williams Road (1700 West), Bluffdale, Utah.
The family would like to thank Canyon Health for their home and hospice care given to Joanne in the two years she resided in her daughter’s home. We would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Care (Willow Springs) in Tooele for not only caring for her needs but doing so with love and compassion. They became an extension of her family. We love and appreciate both facilities for the love and care they gave our Grandma Jo.
