Judy passed early Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021 at the Willow Wood Care Center where she had been under care since 2011 following a stroke. She was born to Norma Irene Christiansen and Paul Gibson Crawford in Blythe, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, and survived by her brothers Robin Paul (Kelly), Kevan Charles (Joyce), and Timothy Barton, as well as nephews Justin Paul (Amber), and Christopher Lee (Andrena), and 2 grandnephews Leif and Chase.
Born in Blythe, CA, Judy grew up in Sugarhouse. When the family moved to East Millcreek, Judy embraced the local culture and developed a love of horses, riding through Olympus Cove to Neff’s Canyon. Judy had an appreciation for animals and would make Christmas gift packages for family member’s pets.
She was in the first graduating class at Skyline High School and later earned Associate Degrees in Dental Assisting and Graphic Arts. She left a trove of beautiful oil and watercolor paintings by which to remember her.
Judy never let a job or occupation define her. Her occupational pursuits included dental assisting, secretarial, cashier, and road construction. In chasing her dreams, she tried living in Calgary, AB for a short time. She always returned home to her family support. She’ll be missed by all who knew her. But to her small grandnephews she will be an enigma in their photos with her from long ago.
A viewing will be held Tuesday morning, December 28 from 11:00 to 12:30 at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary. Donations to local animal charities in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
