Judy Nelson Obituary

Judy Dawn Nelson age 73 died on September 30th, 2022 in Taylorsville, Utah. She was born on February 20th, 1949 in Salt Lake City to Robert and Marie Foutz.  She graduated from Bingham High School in 1967. She enjoyed square dancing this is where she met her husband, Jerry Nelson they were married on November 25th, 1989. Her greatest accomplishment was being a foster mom to many children. Part of her career she was a crossing guard she loved being around children. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and knitting. When she was able she enjoyed going to the Thrift Stores and yard sales, she called it her therapy. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved and enjoyed family and friendship gatherings.

She is survived by her children Kelly Miller, Justin (Terah) Foutz, Shalone Javier, The Robs, Neil Reed, Courtney Blackburn and Step Children Kimberly Stuart, Lori Gottsacker, Jerry (Jay) Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, Sister Colleen Halsey. 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 10 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren many nieces and nephews.

  She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Jerry Nelson, Son Jesse Wayne Reed, Parents Robert and Marie Foutz, Sister Mary Beebe, Brother Gary Barrett, Brother Kelvin Foutz, Brother Glen Foutz and Nephew BJ Halsey.

Celebration of Life for Jerry and Judy will be held on November 5th at 11:00am at Memorial Redwood Mortuary 6500 S. Redwood Road Taylorsville, Utah 84123. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Redwood Estates.

Jerry Arlin Nelson    

February 16,1943 ~ February 11th, 2020 (age 76)

Jerry Arlin Nelson age 76 died on February 11th, 2020 in West Valley City, Utah. He was born on February 16th, 1943 in Jackson County Wisconsin to Ardell and Arlene Nelson. He married Judy on November 25th, 1989. Jerry was a dog trainer for many years, his specialty was German Shepherds he received many awards. His trade was mold making he made many molds such as Barbie dolls, Gillette razors and Bicycle helmets.

 He would dress up as Santa Claus for Halloween and hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters, he naturally grew a long white beard. He was an avid football fan, he loved the Green Bay Packers. He attended Life Church Utah while he was able. He loved playing cards with his family and family get togethers. 

He is survived by his children Kimberly Stueart, Lori Gottsacker, Jerry (Jay) Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Jonathan Nelson and Step Children Kelly Miller, Justin (Terah) Foutz, Shalone Javier, The Robs, Neil Reed, Courtney Blackburn. 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 10 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Ardell and Arlene Nelson, Brother Ronald Nelson, Sister Debra Camposano, Sister Diana Tolleson.
