Kenneth Webb Duke passed away peacefully on July 20, 2020 in Holladay, Utah. Ken was born on March 29, 1930 to Vaughn Hamilton Duke and Thelma Webb Duke.
Ken enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Most of his Army service was stationed on the Marshal Islands during the Korean War. He enjoyed six years of marriage to Betty Myers (1951-1957) and later married Sonja Karin Soyland (September 23rd, 1961). Ken spent many years caring for Sonja who lost her battle with cancer in 1989.
A great example of dedication and steadfastness, Ken worked hard and mastered many skills including machinist, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering carpentry, and business ownership. With his keen intellect, Ken could repair almost any mechanical or electrical device handed to him.
Ken loved and provided for his family and enjoyed raising his three Scottish Terriers, Callie, Conner, and DD. Ken had many accomplishments in life, and developed many noteworthy traits; he was independent, strong willed, and had incredible work ethic. His studious approach to friends and family created many strong, lasting relationships. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. We, his family, are grateful to have been blessed with his rugged, stern, yet genuine concept of love and endearment.
Kenneth is survived by his sister Vionne, his sons, Ken Duke and Alan Smith, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sonja, daughter Shawna, brother Leo and granddaughter Krystina.
