Lenna Albiston Obituary

Lenna Romriell Albiston

July 2, 1924 – September 14, 2022

An elect daughter of God, Lenna Matilda Romriell Albiston stepped from mortality on September 14, 2022 and into a reunion with Ralph, her loving husband of 70 years. Lenna saw many changes in the world in her 98 years and loved being a part of it all. Her sweet, unselfish, angelic spirit was loved by everyone who ever knew her.

Lenna’s parents, George Chester and Ida Belle Romriell raised her in McCammon, Idaho where she was taught to be self-reliant and frugal. She was an excellent student and excelled in sports.  Lenna and Ralph were married in the Logan Temple in 1944, during WWII. Ralph was injured during his military service and his good wife helped and supported him throughout his life.

Lenna learned to play the saxophone during her school years and was still performing into her early 90s. She loved tennis and played it for many years. Her favorite pastimes were puzzles, playing the piano, pinochle, cake decorating and working in her beautiful flower garden. She passed many of her dried flowers and crocheted keepsakes on to her family.

Blessed with a spirit of gratitude, Lenna appreciated everything and everybody in her life. She was alert, and happy, playing Bingo with her friends just shortly before her last breath. She was alert and smiling until the very end. Her brain was still active and aware, but her 98-year-old body was ready to go. She lived in her own home until 2 months before her passing. Lenna saw herself as ordinary, but her posterity knew her as the extraordinary woman that she was. We were blessed for the unconditional love, faithfulness and example of service to her family and the Lord in everything He asked her to do. She was a steadfast and life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints, being called as Relief Society president twice, and serving in the Primary and Young Women’s organizations.

Our family reunions won’t be the same without mom, grandma and, grandma great. We will miss her light and wonderful smile. Her posterity numbers 80, including three children, Kathleen (Dennis) Butt, Norman Ralph, Sheryl (Robert) Boyle, 14 grandchildren, 56 great- grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Shalee, Carly, and Peggy from Everest Hospice for their sweet and tender care of mother. Also, much gratitude to Aimee and her loving staff at Beehive Homes in Syracuse, Utah for their kind and devoted attention to Mom in her final weeks. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 24 at 11:00am with a viewing one hour prior at 2300 N. University Blvd, Layton, Utah. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Bountiful, Utah.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
