Michelle Elsie Wilkes, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece and friend, passed away December 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and unwavering love. Michelle was born on July 26, 1988, to Karin and Lonnie Wilkes. She always had a natural curiosity and spent her life dedicating her talents to helping people in need.
May of 2010 Michelle graduated cum laude from Westminster College with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Michelle continued her education at the University of Utah, earning her master's degree in social work May of 2014. Her passion for understanding others and supporting them in their most challenging moments led her to a career as a Court Visitor Program Coordinator with the Utah State Courts.
Michelle was happiest when she was helping someone else. Whether offering a listening ear, advocating for those without a voice, or simply showing up when someone needed her, she gave freely and wholeheartedly.
Her love for learning was lifelong; she thrived on innovative ideas, lively conversations, and especially friendly debates that brought both laughter, insight and at times patience.
At home, Michelle treasured time with her family. Movie nights, themed parties, game nights, and quiet moments together were among her greatest joys. Michelle loved animals including but not limited to frogs, dogs, cats, horses, and dolphins. She shared a special bond with her dog, Gryffindor, who was her constant companion, loyal friend, and "son."
Michelle is survived by her sister Melissa, her mother Karin, her grandma Betty, and other family members. She is preceded in death by her father Lonnie Wilkes, her grandpa Lenwood Streed, her aunt Rebecca Streed, her grandma Judy Wilkes and grandfather Walter Wilkes.
Michelle's unique spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
