Ray D. Baadsgaard, 92, passed away on Friday, 8/15/2025, in Murray, Utah. He was born on 6/17/1933 in Payson, Utah.
Ray grew up in Payson, Utah, surrounded by many relatives. He graduated from Payson High School. He married the love of his life, Luana "Lue" Henline, in 1955 in the LDS Manti Temple and had four children together. He later got a degree from the LDS Business College.
He accepted a job at a mining company in Dragerton (now East Carbon City), Utah, for two years. He then moved to Salt Lake City to work for Fund Administrators (later named American Benefit) for 17 years. He then took a job with the Granite School District as a purchaser for the next 17 years. He retired at the age of 65.
A life-long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many clerical positions and as Young Men's President.
Ray valued relationships. He loved his immediate family, extended family, ancestors, and friends. He put great effort into visiting others and staying involved in their lives. He had many lifelong friends. He and his brother Gene made a special trip to Europe to visit extended family and stayed in touch with them throughout the years. He devoted much of his free time to genealogical research and family history. Ray was a master gardener and maintained an immaculate garden and yard.
Ray is survived by his brother Gene (Judy), his four children Brent (Mary) Baadsgaard, Iris (Wayne) Best, Dean, Lana (Jeff) Beal, nine grandchildren Tiffany (Johnathan), Joshua, Jaylene (Brandon), Corbin, Jamie (Tom), Jonathan, Benjamin, Jacob, and Samuel and one great grandchild, Jaxon. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Luana "Lue", his father Leo Foster, his mother Cecil Florence, and three siblings Joe (Donna Mae), Ned (Donna), and Janet (Kelly).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, with a family prayer from 10:45 to 11:00 am; the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Services will be at the LDS Church building located at 3103 East Craig Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84109. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm at Payson City Cemetery.
