Retta was born on February 1, 1921, in Midway, Utah to Rawsel Vernon Huffaker and Ethel Davis Huffaker.  Retta grew up for most of her life in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from the University of Utah.

Retta married Douglas H. Brammer in the Salt Lake Temple on January 4, 1944, where they were sealed for time and all eternity.  Together they began their marriage as Doug served as an officer in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division.

Together with Doug, they were blessed with 6 children.  They are also blessed with 28 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren who love and adore her.  Retta was blessed with many talents and abilities.  As a young girl she was the fastest runner in races with all Salt Lake City grade school girls.  She loved the outdoors and especially the Brighton Girls Camp which she attended with dear friends.

Retta was not only a resourceful and wonderful homemaker, but she had a beautiful singing voice. She would sing at home and sang in Church choirs and with friends in Quartets, singing special musical numbers.  She loved music and had a long list of her favorite hymns and songs that she kept updated throughout her life as a new one joined the favorites list.

Retta was a valiant and lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She served as Primary President and in Young Women and Relief Society callings. As years passed by and she grew older, she loved her association with her beloved “Groovy Grannies”.

Later in life she and Doug served a full-time mission for the Church in the England, Birmingham Mission.  As part of that service, they not only served in England but also in Wales.

Retta is survived by her six children.
