Robert Anson “Robbie” Carroll, 25, passed away on May 8, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on January 10, 2000, to John Robert Carroll and Sarah Ann LaMunyon, Robbie was the first grandchild on both sides of the family. He was brilliant, kind, and had a quiet strength that made everyone around him feel safe. Robbie graduated from American Preparatory Academy and was taking classes through WGU while juggling a full-time job with his Dad at CenturyLink. On July 7th 2020, Robbie married Adara DeNiro, and although they later divorced, they remained close.
Robbie was the proud big brother to four younger siblings, and he would have done anything for them. His love for his family knew no bounds—he was the one who always showed up, who listened without judgement, and who gave so much of himself to others. One of the things we loved most was seeing his mischievous grin—whether it was a prank or a joke, you knew when you saw it that he was going to make someone smile. It was one of the things his Grandma Sherri loved most.
Robbie was an avid rock climber, always trying to fit in as much climbing as possible. He also loved backpacking, hiking, and just about anything else outdoors. He was a truly brilliant man, especially in math and science. Upon graduation from High School, one of his high school teachers described him as “one of the most amazingly brilliant people I have had the privilege of meeting during my professional teaching career as well as my life.” He also enjoyed all sorts of games, especially Dungeons and Dragons, in which he had weekly sessions with friends for a long time. He had a gift for storytelling, creating worlds and characters with his imagination. He also had a love for animals, especially his cat Stoj, who he treated like his own child.
Robbie is lovingly remembered by his father, John Carroll; his mother, Sarah Jackson; his siblings Emilia, Lindsey (Alex), Ella, and Tyler; and his grandparents David and Jill LaMunyon. He also leaves behind uncles Mike (Hannah) and John; aunts Christine (Andy), Andi (Brendon), and Erin; cousins Connor, Rose, Clayton, Morgan, Trent, Katherine, Scarlet, and Teigan; and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Cecil and Sherri Carroll.
