Ruth Forsyth Horne, 96, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on August 7, 1924 in Carston, Alberta, Canada to Neil Snow and Chloe Hatch Forsyth. She had 7 brothers who loved and looked out for her as their only sister.
She met Robert Martin Horne in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and they were married in the Cardston, Alberta temple on December 27, 1945. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, they found happiness working and growing with their family. Along with raising her family she enjoyed working as an accountant. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Ruth was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings and especially loved working in the Young Women and Relief Society. As a couple, they served a mission in the Salt Lake City Central Mission. Together Bob and Ruth traveled to many wonderful and exotic places around the world.
The family appreciates the loving and patient services this past year given to her by Pacifica Millcreek. They saw to her every need.
She is survived by David (Kathy) Horne, Diane (Van) Jackson and Daniel (Susan, deceased) Horne, 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert, and her son Thomas.
A viewing will be held in her honor at Holbrook Mortuary 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City on August 29, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Murray City Cemetery at 11:30 am.
