Sandra Robyn Garside

Sandra Robyn Garside, “SAROGA”, passed away September 10th, 2022. She was born on November 28, 1956, to Lela A. Hillman and Hilton L. Garside.

She was the youngest of her six siblings and the two stepbrothers she gained when her mother married Clayton Robertson. She was Clayton’s ‘daddy’s girl”. It was an exciting day for her when she could hang up her dress and put on pants so she could go fishing or horseback riding with him.

Sandra was an avid animal lover and mothered many four-legged children. At times she selflessly put her pets needs above her own. She loved being in the great outdoors going for rides with her family.

She was a #1 Mcdonald’s fan. Nobody could enjoy their double cheeseburgers and french fries (with extra salt), more than Sandra and Diet Coke flowed through her veins.

She loved her family and spoke often of her family history. She shared many stories of her childhood and the things she loved to do with all her siblings. She loved traditions and wouldn’t allow anyone to break them. A holiday meal was not complete until the table was adorned with a beautiful cloth and real china.

She graduated from South High School and studied at Ensign College. She worked at Zions Bank until 1991, then started working for the State of Utah in 1995 in the division of corporation’s department. She retired in 2015.

Survivors include her sister, Bonita (Dewayne) Martin; brother, Blair (Marilyn) Garside; an aunt and uncle; and several nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Robert, and Brent; sister, Bette Garside; and stepbrothers, James and Earl Robertson.    

Sandra’s tired body is now at rest, and she is reunited with her many pets and loved ones whom she has missed dearly. Especially her beloved sister Bette (BJ) with whom she lived and shared life with for many years.

A graveside service will be held for Sandra at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Millcreek, Utah. .
