Sarah Diane Blank

Sarah joined this world on August 30, 1988. She passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Saturday, November 2, 2019 at age 31. Although she had various health issues from the time she was born, we never met anyone more determined to live. She fought every barrier that crossed her path, a sharp sense of humor at her side. Any struggle she came across she was willing to face head on, and never seemed to consider another option. Our family, friends, and the dedicated team at Primary Children’s Hospital all watched as she overcame hurdle after hurdle, firmly committed to life itself. She became the underdog that won every fight.

Sarah lived boldly.  She lived a life without holding grudges, would make friends with anyone, and was generous to a fault. She had big emotions, as if she needed at every moment to feel the full spectrum that humanity had available to her. Outgoing and full of energy, she liked to be busy and was an incredibly hard worker. She enjoyed her job at Win Co. and loved being around people.

She was funny. She was brave. She was impulsive, passionate, loyal, and strong. Our lives without her have so instantly been marked by her absence, and the loss we feel goes deep. We will miss her beyond whatever words can be written here. Sarah is survived by her parents, Jim and Hollie; her sister Nikki (Jimmy); her partner Andrew; her much loved cat Evvie; and a diverse collection of extended family and friends.

Sarah will be remembered Saturday, November 9^th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary (3251 S. 2300 E. Salt Lake City, UT 84109). All are welcome to share in this experience. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to a cause close to your heart.
