With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Sharon Lee Astin, on June 16th, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sharon was a gentle, devoted, and quietly resilient woman who brought warmth and light to those around her.
She was born on November 12, 1943, in Evanston, Illinois, to John and Betty Astin. Sharon grew up in a loving home that valued faith, family, learning, and country. After graduating from Olympus High School, she pursued her studies at the University of Utah, earning her degree with determination and grace.
Sharon later moved to Los Angeles, California, where she built a long and successful career as a legal secretary. Her professionalism, kindness, and sense of integrity left a lasting impression on her colleagues and friends. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sharon found deep fulfillment in her church service and remained active in her faith throughout her life.
In her later years, Sharon chose to return to Salt Lake City to be closer to her family, a decision that reflected her deep love and quiet strength. Her gentle spirit and thoughtful presence will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Ron. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Johnny Pugh and Laurie Goodrich, her brother Marc Astin, and many extended family members and friends who were touched by her kindness.
Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Sunrise of Sandy for the compassionate care they provided in Sharon’s final years.
Service will be held on Friday, June 20th, 2025 at Holbrook Mortuary at 2:00PM 251 South 2300 East Salt Lake City, UT 84109
