The world lost the most loving and giving woman on July 30, 2021, Tammy Gehring.
Tammy Elizabeth Gehring was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 25, 1975, to a loving mother, Christine Wilfahrt and father, Frank J. Gehring. Right from the beginning her mother noticed how she always had her own mind. Tammy loved life and lived it how she wanted. She was like that when she was young and she always kept that wonderful quality throughout her life. Christine, her mother, always loved her from the time she came into this world and always will.
Tammy was a true friend to all. Tammy was there for us all, both friend and family. She was willing to help anyone in need and would recognize that need before anyone else. Because of her generous and loving spirit, she gathered many lifelong friends throughout her life that became more like family to her. Not only did she embrace people, she whole heartily embraced life itself. She found goodness and joy wherever it presented itself and then added to it. When Tammy found injury or hurt she did her best to make it better.
Tammy spent years of wonderful time with her children. Her oldest son, Brody W. Gehring was the child of her youth with Michael John Hansen, her first love. Michael preceded her in death in 1995. She was a single mother until she met and fell in love with John Poulsen. Trinity Ivy Gehring and Berrick Luke Gehring-Poulsen followed a few years after. John is a rock and support for her and all of her children. Thank you John, for always being there for over twenty years. Adam R. Gehring, her only grandchild came into her life three years ago. She loved spending time with him and his parents, Brody and Michaela, enjoying the great outdoors.
Tammy is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Gordon S. and May Hale. Paternal grandparents, Frank and Leona Gehring, her father, Frank J. Gehring and her uncle, Russell G. Hale. She also survived by her mother, Christine Wilfahrt, (Howard), her brother, Frank C. Gehring (Casey) and her brother, Christopher G. Gehring. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held on August 21, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S 2300 E, Salt Lake City, Utah. This memorial will be an open house style of remembrance. Please come and share memories during that time if desired. In lieu of flowers, a Go Fund Me page in Tammy's name has been created to help Brody with funeral costs and to help John to support their youngest son.
